• Soil Around Expansion Joints: The termites tend to enter the house through cracks and expansion joints. Therefore, treat these areas around the joints with relevant chemical solutions.

Termite Treatment After Construction

If you have not employed the pre-construction mentioned above treatment methods while building your house, then worry not. You can still include some termite treatments. 

After the house is constructed, the soil around the foundation is treated with termiticide. For this, a trench is dug around the outer wall of the building, and then holes are drilled in this trench. Usually, the depth of the holes reaches up to the start of the footing and is treated with termiticide.

When it is an old house, there might be cracks on the floor and cavities in the woodwork. An anti-termite solution is introduced into the floor cracks, while an oil-based solution is used for the woodwork.
